Well hello!

I'm Emma Koch (she/her/hers), a theatrical stage manager located in Mid Michigan.

About Me

I am Michigan born and raised and moved out of my hometown to Saginaw for my undergraduate degree, where I rediscovered and grew my love for theatre.
I first entered the world of theatre as a child, acting in small community productions in the summer with my friends, as something to do. I never loved being on stage but jumped at any opportunity to help with the productions in other ways. When I came to college, I was in an Intro to Acting class that got me involved with the theatre department as an electrician/stage hand for our first show of the season. From there, the rest is history (as they say).
I found my love for stage management quite quickly but I have also been fortunate to have the opportunity to test the waters with many other departments as well. Before spending time working on shows at SVSU, I honestly had very little idea of what a stage manager actually was. Through exposure, I realized that I had a knack and eventually love for stage management work.
As an stage manager, I strive to ensure safety, communication, efficiency, and collaboration. I believe my understanding of the various different sections of theatre have helped me become the stage manager that I am today.
